If you voted in ’04, but have not requested or received your’06 General Election ballot, visit http://www.votefromabroad.org/ to review state deadlines. If you voted in ’04, you may still request a ballot in most states—but don’t delay. Visit http://www.votefromabroad.org/ to request your ballot today.
So how am I supposed to receive the blank ballot and return it in time to meet state deadlines? Democrats Abroad presents you a great opportunity to do just that. Just follow these simple steps; please read on.
1. If you voted in 2004, you are already registered. Visit http://www.votefromabroad.org/ today request your general election ballot. When you complete the process, sign and fax it to the toll-free number for your country, available at 00798-14-800-5748. Follow up by mailing the signed hard copy.
2. The wizard at http://www.votefromabroad.org/ also produces the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot. Follow instructions to vote your ballot; for the name of your Democratic Congressional candidate. Then place the voted ballot in a blank envelope (your “security envelope” and seal; place the security envelope in an outer envelope, which you should address to the local election official at the address provided and mail.
If your official state ballot subsequently arrives, vote the official ballot and return it. Election officials will replace the write-in ballot with the official ballot. In the event that the official ballot does not arrive in time, your write-in vote will be counted.
